I'm Marissa Leon-John, a completely self-taught chef and owner of Elle Jay's. We are a multidisciplinary culinary venture. Through memorable & delicious events, we bring together the art of food with the humanity of those who prepare and enjoy it. Born and raised in Montreal, my food reflects the multicultural food haven I was born into. My Caribbean heritage is the foundation of my passion for honouring tradition and you will taste this in every bite of food I prepare. As a proud MasterChef Canada alumni, it's my calling to use my voice and platform to provide more visibility for other young, black LGBTQIA2+ members of the culinary community. Elle Jay's advocates this through the language of food, public speaking engagements and proud partnerships with companies aligned with our values.
